Welcome to 86 Street Photo & Digital, a full service lab offering quality photo finishing and digital imaging. Since 1945, we've offered fast professional service. Unlike other labs, we do all of our work in house. Whether you are a beginning photographer or a seasoned professional, we know you will like our services.
We are open on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Terms of payment
We accept cash, VISA, Master Card, American Express, most ATM cards, travelers checks and personal checks. Personal checks must be accompanied by a valid driver's license. A deposit may be required on any order exceeding $100.
Our guarantee of quality
Everyone here at 86 Street Photo & Digital takes great pride in their work. We thank you for entrusting your film and digital files to us for processing. We do our very best to ensure that we have produced the very highest quality prints. However, if you are not completely satisfied, please let us know. We will reprint them at our expense. We welcome your comments on our service. Thanks again.
Rush services and charges
Some enlargement orders may be available for same day service depending upon machine availability. If possible, the additional rush charge is equal to the standard print price. Ask a manager for pre-approval on all rush orders.
Limit of liability
Submitting any film, print, slide, negative or electronic media to 86 Street Photo & Digital for processing, printing or other handling constitutes an agreement by you that any damages or loss by our company, subsidiary, or agents, even though due to the negligence or other fault of our company, subsidiary or agents, will only entitle you to replacement with a like amount of unexposed film and processing. Except for such replacement, the acceptance of the film, print,
slide, negative or electronic media is without other warranty or liability, and recovery for any incidental or consequential damages is excluded.
86 Street Photo & Digital does not assume liability, whether lost or damaged by fire, theft, negligence or any other means, for customer supplied materials, such as frames, paintings, artwork, etc., that are submitted with orders. Should you choose to leave materials or prints, not processed in our lab, for mounting, we cannot assume responsibility for any damage incurred. We cannot be responsible for materials left unclaimed for more than 30 days after completion of our service. All prices and service specifications are subject to change without notice.
Copyright laws
86 Street Photo & Digital respects the right of all artists and photographers to their copyrighted materials. We accept copyrighted materials only if written permission has been granted by the copyright owner. The customer further agrees to hold harmless and indemnify 86 Street Photo & Digital for any costs or judgments resulting from claim for copyright infringement by the owner or his lawful assigns.

Our Color Digital Enlargements are premium quality archival prints with 100 year color permanence, perfect for framing and display. They are color and density corrected and are available.
Cropping, color matching and retouching are available. Your original image can be from a negative, slide, print or digital file. We can easily add text in any color or font, and can also composite additional images or logos. Add. Fee applies.

DIGITAL FILE PREPARATION
In order for us to provide consistent quality results from your digital image files, we need to create some guidelines by which files are created and organized prior to delivery to our lab. By following these standards, your order will not only be completed in a more timely manner, but in many cases at a lesser cost to you.
Prints from Digital Camera Media and Camera Phone Media:
We are able to print from Compact Flash, Micro Drives, Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo and Pro, SD, Mini-SD, XD, MMC, RS-MMC, Trans Flash, Mini CD and Floppy.
• Acceptable file formats are JPEG and TIFF etc.
• We can make prints from video clips
• Most people find prints made from files with a resolution of 640x480 unacceptable. We recommend a minimum file resolution of 1600x1200 for quality 4x6 prints. See “Resolution”
We accept DVD's, CDs , ZIP 100/250 (PC & Mac), and files through our website.
• File names must have only one period (.) followed by jpg or tiff .
• There cannot be any apostrophes, exclamation points (!), or other characters (#,~,%,$, etc).
• Files must be sized proportionately to the print size requested to avoid cropping
• Only letters and numbers in file names, no characters (see above).
DIGITAL COPY SERVICE
DigiCopy
Digicopy is a premium quality print to print archival photographic process. It is only one generation from your original print and will provide the best possible reproduction of your original. Your print is scanned, color, density and contrast corrected, printed on a state of the art digital printer, and saved onto a CD. Keep the CD just like photographic negatives and bring it back for future reprints and enlargements.

Prints from large transparencies, overheads and X-rays
This is a direct positive to positive print with excellent sharpness and color reproduction.
Transparencies are back-lit and scanned to a digital file. Standard sizing is normally 1:1, although reduction or enlargement is available. Surface is glossy or matte.

Direct positive to positive prints are digitally printed on our state of the art digital printer. This provides the best color reproduction possible, with little or no increase in contrast. Traditional Custom Framing
We use quality materials and standard procedures that will best display your photograph or artwork.
We offer a large selection of both wood and metal moldings, quality acid-free mat boards
and a selection of glazing materials. We can frame photographs, artwork, certificates and collectable
objects. All work in done on the premises with a 3-10 day turnaround.
Conservation Framing
Conservation framing utilizes materials and techniques that will best protect and preserve the
art.. All methods are completely reversible without leaving any impressions or residue on the artwork.
We offer 100% cotton rag mat boards, 98% UV protection and museum glass and conservation
mounting and fitting procedures that do not harm the original artwork. All work in done
on the premises with a 7-14 day turnaround.

Scanning from Negatives
Scanning to CD @ 4 Base Standard Res
Our premium standard resolution scans of 35mm and 120/220 color film
are color/density corrected and dust free. From these scans we can produce true photographic
quality prints up to 8x12. The J-PEG CD is available from 35mm and 120/220 film.
The images are scanned to compact disk with or without opening and viewing software
or you can open them using any image editing software.
(max. of five rolls per CD) the price is $6.99 per roll.
(max. of two 120/220 film rolls per CD) the price is $10.99 per roll.
The TIFF CD
This CD is also available from 35mm and 120/220 film. The images are scanned and written to the CD
in uncompressed tiff file format. These images are scanned at 4 Base, which is 4.0 mb at 1536x1024 pixels for 35mm film.
